Visitors who join us for this tour will have the chance to see a few of these beautifully illustrated medical botany books, including a late 15th century Ortus Sanitatis, Leonhardt Fuch’s Historia Stirpium from 1542, Elizabeth Blackwell’s A Curious Herbal, one of Nicolas Culpepper’s herbals, Jacob Bigelow’s American Medical Botany and its rival, William Barton’s Vegetable Materia Medica, and other highlights.
